Call for Papers — SEC-T Spring Pub 2026
SEC-T’s spring pub is coming up fast and we want to see what you’ve been cookin up all winter!
About This Event
This is our community pub event — and we would like to see you showcase something you’re actually working on right now. Half-finished is fine. Weird, novel or stupid is encouraged! The point is for the community to share in the weird, cool stuff you spend your days tinkering with!
The spring pub is an in-person event. You must be able to attend!
Format
Up to 15 minutes per talk.
Important Dates
| Submission Deadline | May 13th |
| Spring Pub Event | May 20th |
What We’re Looking For
All talks will be reviewed by our trusty team, with these clear goals.
We want to see:
- Something you’re actually working on, that is real and referenceable
- Stupid ideas that maybe aren’t so stupid after all
- Novel, unconventional, or unfinished projects
- Extra points for live demos!
Please don’t:
- Make us sift through AI drivel
- Send us a marketing presentation about how brilliant you are
- Submit something dull for the sake of submitting
- Pad out a nothing burger with buzz words
- Submit something you’re not even interested in working on
Your Submission
2–3 paragraphs please! The hard limit is 500 words. Write it how you’d explain it to some drunk guy at the pub.
Send your submission to [email protected].
On the Night
If your talk is selected, you will be invited to present for 15 minutes, after which you will take questions at the bar! All attendees will vote live on their favourite talk and the winner will be announced after the quiz.
The spirit of this event is to showcase the community — it’s not a competition!
The grand prize:
- General acclaim of your peers
- Feedback from the community
- Big bouquet of flowers
- A mystery gift from your spring pub host
- Free ticket to SEC-T (Thomas Said Yes)
